Designed and built for automotive purist, the Sick 7 captures the timeless styling of the 60's sports car era while utilizing the advancements in automotive technology to truly build a one-of-a-kind driving machine for the automotive performance enthusiast. Body Exterior Inspired by the road racing corvettes of the 60's, this coupe is the true essence of automotive styling and “down to business” performance. The coupe's Ermine white paint covers every curve of the body including the custom build race inspired aluminum bumpers, front air dam rocker panels, and functional side air scoops. The rear of the car is truly “race car looking” with the addition of circular air ports cut between the tail lights, but following form and function, these do serve a dual purpose. The ports redirect air from under the chassis to reduce rear “lifting” at high speed. They also cool the custom air conditioning condenser that is relocated to the rear of the car. Positioned just above the rear of the car and below the back glass is the gas cap assembly that follows the tradition of race cars with its quick release mechanism that begs for fuel to fire the engine. Finishing out the Sick 7 is the classic corvette stinger stripe. Painted in Le Mans Blue, it transcends the body from the cowl hood to the rear valance to truly give this automobile its seductive look. Interior The quintessential colors of the corvette, Blue & White, engulfs the interior and gives you the image that this car may have been built to run the 24 hours of Le Mans at the turn of a key. The timeless look of the factory corvette interior is blended with the addition of hand fabricated and painted aluminum parts; the console that houses a Hurst competition shifter and the dash panels that display the AutoMeter gauges. The unique placement of the tachometer on the driver's side and the speedo on the passenger side makes for an anticipated ride in either seat. You will note functional finger grips in the dash panel on the passenger side…a must when watching the speedometer pass triple digits. Don't worry that the interior is all business, the power windows and custom air conditioning system makes this ride very comfortable as you grip the custom Flaming River tilt steering wheel while running through the gears down “ole” Route 66. Suspension The chassis is truly race ready with construction from tubular and box chrome moly to give this car exceptional strength to deal with any type of driving. The suspension incorporates the use of late model corvette running gear for both front and rear driveline. The factory aluminum A-arms have been magnafluxed, shot-peened, and assembled to the chassis with Carrea fully adjustable coil over shocks. Mounted on these assemblies are 14” SSB slotted and ball milled disc brakes that are bolted to factory corvette polished 5 spoke wheels wrapped with 245/ZR40 17's Goodyear's that bring the car to a stop at the touch of a pedal. Distributing the power from under the hood to the wheels is a corvette aluminum housing rear end from a late model corvette that has been custom mounted to the frame and modified to incorporate a 4 link suspension that plants the 265/ZR30 18” Goodyear's to the pavement. WARNING: This car will handle any road you put it on, only experienced drivers should push this car to it's limit. Engine The heart and soul to every muscle car of the 60's was a big V-8 engine. The Sick 7 is no different. Under the hood you will find 468 cubic inches of blue printed and balanced Chevrolet power putting out 500hp and 600 ft. lbs. torque through a Richmond 5 speed transmission. Evacuating the exhaust gases is a custom set of nickel plated headers matched to a 2 ½” stainless dual exhaust system that exits through a pair of 4” stainless tips that pierce the real valance. Keeping this beast cool is a custom aluminum Be Cool radiator. When you crack the throttle on this bullet, the fire and fuel are provided by the performance companies of MSD and Holley to insure it gets what it needs when it needs it. The engine compartment is finished with polished aluminum valve covers and stainless braided lines and a host of other goodies attached to the matching Ermine white block/heads and oil pan to keep with the simple color theme. It is truly a work of craftsmanship under a hood that should be raised when the Slick 7 is at rest. |
